Glass dish of seven-layer dip showing beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa and cheese with chips

Seven-layer dip is the potluck and game-day classic, and part of the fun is seeing the stripes through a glass dish. Each layer is simple, so it comes together in about 20 minutes.

Make it a few hours ahead and add the toppings just before serving.

Instructions

  1. Beans. Stir the taco seasoning into the refried beans and spread in the bottom of a clear 8 x 8-inch dish.
  2. Layer. Spread the guacamole over the beans, then the sour cream, then the drained salsa.
  3. Top. Sprinkle with the cheese, olives and green onions.
  4. Serve. Serve right away with tortilla chips, or cover and chill up to 4 hours.
