Charleston Iced Tea adds Southern flair to a pitcher of tea: a cinnamon stick and slices of orange and lemon steep in freshly brewed tea for an hour. Serve it over ice with a sprig of fresh mint if you have it.

Ingredients

  • 4 tea bags
  • 8 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 small orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh mint (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew. Brew the tea in a large pitcher. If the pitcher is glass, put a large metal spoon in it to prevent cracking.
  2. Steep. Add the cinnamon stick, sliced orange and sliced lemon. Let stand for one hour.
  3. Serve. Serve over ice, with a sprig of fresh mint at the top of the glass if available.
