The Friday fish fry is one of the great food traditions of Lent, and a good excuse to cook more seafood the rest of the year too. Here are our favorite fish and shellfish dinners for Fridays: crisp fish and chips, New England baked haddock, a from-scratch tuna noodle casserole, shrimp and grits, 15-minute lemon butter tilapia, chowders and more.
Lent 2027: Ash Wednesday is February 10, Good Friday is March 26, and Easter is March 28. That is six Fridays of Lent plus Good Friday, enough to try a new seafood dinner every week.
